Solely relying on designing bridges in accordance with regulations and standards is not a guarantee for a good and long-lasting bridge. A correct concept is needed, which, in addition to standards, takes into account the experience of modern practice and feedback from the maintenance and management of bridges.
The new bridge is designed as an integral bridge construction, which conceptually and primarily affects the durability and maintenance costs. The access of rainwater and winter maintenance salt to the structural elements of the bridge has been permanently prevented. A simpler and faster construction is due to the minimum number of bearings and complicated dilatations, which require strict tolerance for installation with a more precise sequence of installation work.
